FAQ’s about ordering calligraphy

1. How should I send my guest list?

Please fill out my questionnaire which is included on my website under “Ordering” and then “Addressing & Envelopes” so that your job will be completed to your specifications.  The list should be TYPED and preferably in label format.  Also include attributions (Mr., Dr., Ms., etc)…I will copy what you have given me exactly as it is given to me…so please double check your spelling and ZIP codes.

2. What are your rates and how do I request a quote?

Please email or call me and my price list will be provided.  I will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding my freelance calligraphy service.  Pricing is determined by the job specifications and most jobs are taxable.  A 50% deposit is sometimes required.  Your Final Invoice will be given to you when the job is picked up. Payment in full is due at that time by cash or check.  Shipping when required, is by FedEx and that cost will be added to your bill.

3.  Do I need to provide the stationery?

Yes.  You should supply the paper stock (envelopes, place cards, escort envelopes and insert cards etc).  When ordering, keep in mind that you need to order an extra 20% more stock than you think you need.  For example, if you are sending out 150 invitations, please order 20% extra envelopes for that “just in case” scenario.

4. What is your turnaround time?

The turnaround time depends upon the job and your desires.  An example might be 150 invitees and related additional items which should take approximately 2 weeks.

5. Why and How can I use Calligraphy for my event?

Calligraphy means beautiful writing.  How better to invite someone to your special event than to personally individualize it from the very start: invitations, envelopes, place cards, escort cards and inserts, menus, vows, signs, programs.  As well as stationery,  matted and framed quotations, calling cards or proclamations.

6. Can you do lettering for invitations or other printed materials?

Yes.  I will need to work with you personally to learn exactly what you want and how you want the finished product to look.  My work will be printer ready, needing only a reduction, and can be offset, thermographed, letter pressed or engraved from the original copy.
